Requirements:

DBA Midrange (Sybase)

Responsible for ensuring all database system operational processes are managed according to established service level agreements. Specifically;

  • Administration of database objects such as indexes, tables, views, constraints, stored procedures
  • Archiving, backup / recovery, replication, cloning, import/export and refresh
  • Administration of database users
  • Capacity Management and storage management
  • Design, test, and optimize/tune RDBMS components

  • Work in a production environment to ensure 24×7 operations of backup systems and processes
  • Administer backup environments to monitor and manage enterprise data management processes.
  • Monitor daily backup operations to insure they are available for Data and Disaster Recovery.
  • Provide support to technical/non-technical customers for restore support. Provide on-call assistance for data center operations.

Responsibilities

Act as escalation point for all requests and incidents. Routing of requests, incidents and problems to appropriate teams within SOC. Develop and mature phone/ticket escalation processes to ensure free flowing escalation and information within the organization (MCS). Determine root cause of monitoring & alerting service  issues and communicate appropriately to internal and external customers. Train, coach and mentor Service Desk Specialists (Level 1 / 2) including career development. Oversee staff activities. Builds/obtains (from other departments) training material for support staff. As needed, schedule employees working times and provide backup support. Interact with internal and external customers. Provide data and reporting of KPI’s and trends to Global Delivery Manager and others in ad-hoc, weekly, monthly and as needed. Will drive Ticket Deep Dive and develop strategies for improvement. Work to make Service Desk the single source of truth and service delivery channel for SOC. Monitor and manage phone queue (participating in escalated calls as needed). Input to development of process and procedures to facilitate the support of the customer. Input to the Service Transition process including the Planning, Change, Configuration, Release, Testing and Evaluation functions. Oversee Solutions repository and ensure top quality solutions are available to the staff. Develops Service and Business Level Agreements to set expectations and measure performance. Develops an effective and workable framework for managing and improving customer support in the organization. Advise management on situations that may require additional client support or escalation. Manage process for communicating outage/emergency activities to the organization. Review survey feedback to improve services, tools and support experience. Keep confidential all applicant, client, and verification and company proprietary information.

Profile

  • A minimum of 10 years helpdesk experience.  Previously worked for a technology vendor, software or Systems Integration Company or an IT Consultancy.
    • ITIL certified (preferred)
    • Basic understating of SAN (preferred)
    • Perform other duties as required or directed by management

Job purpose

This position provides technical Server expertise and leadership to the sales team. The role is a hand’s on role that will recommend system architecture solutions, conduct PoC testing and benchmark testing. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical benchmark and performance characteristics via published results or proof-of-concept evaluations which accurately reflect customer ability to achieve expected results with the recommended system architecture
  • Represent HDS at conferences, trade shows, exhibits, and other special events, promoting new and existing sales programs, product promotions and initiatives. Help develop, set up, operate and explain demonstrations at these events.
  • Develop and conduct training classes for Hitachi personnel and customers as requested by management. Ensure successful completion of all required and requested training by HDS management.
  • Provide implementation consulting and management of the implementation project team comprised of Hitachi, partner and customer resources to ensure successful implementation of the Hitachi solution
